The BCCAP Security Deposit Assistance Program (SDAP) provides one-time financial assistance to eligible Baltimore City residents who have found a rental unit but need help covering the security deposit.
This program helps residents secure housing faster, avoid homelessness, and move toward long-term stability.

SDAP works to:
Remove financial barriers to housing
Prevent homelessness and displacement
Support rapid rehousing efforts
Expand access to licensed rental housing in Baltimore City

To qualify for this program, you must:
Live in Baltimore City or be planning to move into housing in Baltimore City
Meet income guidelines (low- to moderate-income households)
Show a need for housing assistance, such as:
At risk of losing your housing
Currently experiencing unstable housing
Living in overcrowded or unsafe conditions
Moving out of a shelter or temporary housing
Have already found a rental unit
Provide a lease or a signed agreement from the landlord showing intent to rent to you

The rental unit must:
Be located in Baltimore City
Have a valid rental license
Be safe and in good living condition
Be approved for legal occupancy
